Edward Joseph Helgert

Edward J. Helgert, of Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the age of 74. He was born in Milwaukee on March 4, 1947 the son of Edward and Elsie (nee Olsen) Helgert. In 1965, Edward graduated from West Milwaukee Highschool where he met Suzanne Lipski. They married in West Allis on August 9, 1969. Edward enjoyed birdwatching, his dog Gizmo and cat Angel. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a loving Husband, a great father, and cherished grandfather.

He will be missed by his wife Sue Helgert and their sons Erik (Laura), David (Samantha), and Matthew Helgert. His grandchildren Zackery, Alexis, Gage and Jackson Helgert. He is further survived by his brother Mark (Gwenda) Helgert, brother-in-law Dennis (Pam) Lipski, sister-in-law Darlene Eibl and brother-in-law Brian (Laurie) Lipski, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert “Tiny” Helgert and brother-in-law Peter Eibl.
