Donna J. Scharnott

Donna J. Scharnott of Waukesha died on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Seasons Hospice at the age of 48, following a 3 ½ year courageous battle with Stage 4 breast cancer. She was born in Waukesha on October 12, 1969 the daughter of Donald and Leona (nee Thomas) McDermott. Donna was a kind and loving person who proudly supported Veterans and the Wounded Warriors. Despite having cancer, she maintained a positive attitude and was always lifting-up the spirits and helping others in the cancer center.

She was a loving mother and will sadly missed by her son, David Scharnott of Waukesha, her fiancée Dave Goratowski of Waukesha, her four-legged companion, Xena, her siblings Randy (Patrice) Gilman, Susan Richards, Brian (Laura) Gilman, Greg Gilman and Laurie (Dave) King. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved dog, Draven.

The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff at ProHealth Care Cancer Center for all their wonderful care during Donna’s 3 ½ year battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. Memorial Service at the Prairie Home Cemetery Chapel, 605 S. Prairie Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Interment will follow. Memorials are appreciated to the family.
