Walter "Wally" J. Wachowitz Iii

Walter J. “Wally” Wachowitz III, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the age of 57. Wally was born in Waukesha on December 6, 1956 and lived and attended school in Baraboo, WI. He loved to bowl, winning several gold medals in the Special Olympics and also, ride his horse. Wally was a huge Elvis fan and he traveled to Graceland. He also enjoyed traveling the United States with special groups of friends from Baraboo.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents Walter J. and Elsie (nee Lloyd) Wachowitz Jr, aunt, June K. Piza, uncle Stanley J. Piza, cousin Kathy A. Vick, and brother-in-law, Craig E Bear Sr., niece, Kristin L Bear, nephew, John W Collins and foster parent Donald Wolterstoff.

He is survived by his loving sisters Mary Wachowitz Bear and Jill Wachowitz Collins, niece Betsy (Tim) Bear Hoff, nephews: Craig (Heather) Bear Jr, Noah (Jennifer) Collins, and Matthew (Gina Maniaci) Collins. Great nieces Jaryn I Bear, Natalie N Bear, Nessa R Bear, Lila P Collins, Violet F Collins, great nephews: Quinn P Collins, Enzo A Collins, Damian P Collins, Cameron E Bear and cousins: Stacy (Matt) Vick Wirth, Adam J Wirth and his foster mother Shirley Wolterstoff.

The family would like to thank the Wolterstoff family and the staffs at Reedsburg Medical Center and the REM Wisconsin group home for the extraordinary care given to Wally over time.

Private family services will be held in Waukesha. He will be laid to rest with his parents at St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Baraboo.
