Vernon Luecht

b. February 6, 1948

Vernon "Vern" George Luecht, 58, of Waukesha died Tuesday January 9, 2007 at his home. He was born February 6, 1948 in Milwaukee to George Luecht and Betty (nee: Cookson) Krolski. He was married to Judith (nee: Schlei) Luecht and she preceded him in death December 23, 1996. He also married Shirley Luecht (Frank) (nee: Lehman) on February 14, 2002 in Port Richey, Florida. He had worked for the Waukesha County Highway Department for 17 years. Vern was also very involved with the Potawatomi Council of Boy Scouts. He had served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam where he received two Purple Heart's, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Combat Action Ribbon. He was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League in Waukesha, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 414 and 425. He was a dedicated and very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his wife Shirley, his children Anntonette (Joseph) Perez of Waukesha, Darlene (Glen) Warren of Waukesha, Stephanie (Damian Meredith) Gallagher of Waukesha, step-children Dawn (Matt) Toepfer of Oconomowoc, and Brian (James) Sellman of Brookfield. 9 grandchildren Anje, Christopher, Aimee, Shelby, Kasi-Lin, Jordan, Alicia, and the twins Aaron, Ashlee, brothers James (In) Luecht of Niceville, Florida, Terry (Wanda) Luecht of Green Bay and David (Heather) Luecht of Madison, sisters Margaret (Jim) Cerny of Waukesha and Ruth (Chuck) Nimmer of Trempealeau, mother-in-law Alberta Lehman of Port Richey, Florida, sister-in-law Catherine (Mike) Miller of Port Richey, and brother-in-law LeRoy Lehman of Milwaukee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Friends may call Friday January 12, 2007 at Randle-Dable Funeral Home 1110 S. Grand Avenue, from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM Funeral Service. Rev. James Gorman presiding. Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be held Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery chapel by 9:00 AM for the procession to the grave.
