Vernon H. Benson

Vernon H. Benson, age 88, of Waukesha, died on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Seasons Hospice, one week following the death of his wife Betty. He was born in Chicago, IL on August 26, 1926 the son of John and Hilda (nee Nelson) Benson. Following the death of his first wife, Delores on December 28, 1986, Vernon married Betty Nordland (nee Schwulst) on March 6, 1993 and she preceded him in death May 1, 2015. He worked for many years for the National Cash Register, retiring in 1989. He was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

He will be sadly missed by his children, John Benson of Texas, Beverly Benson of Waukesha, Pam (Brian) Palmer of South Carolina and Dale (Marie) Benson of Virginia and his step-children, Jeff (Kim) Nordland of Phillips, WI; Jennifer (Leonard) Caracci of Waukesha and Jeannie (Rick) Cruz of Waukesha. He was the grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Arlene of Phoenix, AZ, his brother Warren “Buddy” of Georgia along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, wife Delores and wife Betty, he was preceded in death by his sister Jeanette, brother Paul and step-daughter Ruth (Dan) Ziemann.

Visitation for Vernon and Betty will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 4:00PM until the time of the 7:00PM memorial service at Randle-Dable Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. Waukesha, WI. Pastor Andy Fetters will preside. Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 12th at 2:00PM at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery.
