Stanley J. “Stan” Piza, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at his home Wednesday night February 13, 2013 at age 90 while he was watching one of his favorite western movies.

Stan loved life and loved to play golf and travel. He was an avid golfer and played up until a few years ago.

Stan studied at Carroll College before being drafted into the Navy and was stationed in Cuba during World War II. He was a member of the K-Class blimps. Stan was a member of the Navy basketball team and played at Madison Square Garden as a guard. He also played semi-pro baseball for many years in the Milwaukee area.

Stan was retired from Alloy Products Corp after 54 years of employment, and he continued his board member duties for four more years. Stan loved to travel to trade shows with his brother in law, Wally Wachowitz Jr. and they had many adventures together.

Stan is survived by his granddaughter, Stacy (Matt) Wirth, great grandson, Adam Joseph, son-in-law, Joe Vick, nieces Mary Bear and Jill Collins; nephew Walter Wachowitz III; great-niece Betsy (Tim) Hoff, great-nephews, Craig (Heather) Bear, Noah (Jenny) Collins, Matt (Gina Maniaci) Collins and other family and friends.

Stan was preceded in death by his wife, June (Wachowitz) Piza; his daughter, Kathy Vick; brother- and sister-in-law, Walter and Elsie Wachowitz Jr., nephew, Craig Bear Sr.; great-niece, Kristin Bear; and great-nephew John Collins.

The family would like to thank his caregivers for their five years of loving service.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00PM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. No formal funeral service will be held.
