Robert "Bob" L. Szmanda Jr.

Robert “Bob” L. Szmanda Jr., a longtime Waukesha resident, died on Friday, May 2, 2014 at his home at the age of 70 years. He was born in Milwaukee on April 24, 1944 the son of Robert L. and Lucille (nee Dirkman) Szmanda Sr. On May 29, 1965 he married Cathy Ronan at St. Joseph Parish in Big Bend.

He will be sadly missed by wife Cathy and their daughter Jennifer (Chris) Erato, his granddaughter Elle Erato, his mother Lucille Szmanda, his brothers, Don (Carilyn Carlson) Szmanda, Jeff Szmanda, Tom Szmanda and Tim (Julie) Szmanda and his sister Margaret (Brian) Vanderwarn. He is further survived by his mother-in-law Shirley Ronan Pelishek, his sisters-in-law Sandy Szmanda and Janann Ronan (Joe) Treuden, his brothers-in-law Jeff Waller, Patrick (Kathleen) Ronan and Michael Ronan, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Szmanda Sr., his brother Bill Szmanda and his sister Mary Szmanda Waller.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 10:00AM until the time of the 11:00AM funeral Mass at St. Joseph Parish, S89 W22650 Milwaukee Avenue, Big Bend, WI 53103. Fr. Dick Robinson will preside. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Robert’s name are appreciated to the Waukesha Women’s Center, 505 North East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186.
