Robert "Bob" D Mcquillan

December 29, 1940 — August 20, 2017

Robert D. “Bob” McQuillan entered eternal bliss on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the age of 76 after a very courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife JoAnn of 55 years, daughter Lisa, son Scott (Kim), granddaughter Emma, sister Judith Schultz of Rockford, IL, niece Deanna and nephew David.
He was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Daniel and Leona (nee Rawlings) McQuillan. A member of the first class graduating from Eau Claire Memorial High School, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1962 and an Executive MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1976.
He started his career in Kokomo, Indiana at the Stellite Division of Union Carbide as Metallurgical Engineer where he was granted a patent for a cobalt based alloy resistant to thermal shock. Subsequently, he moved to Waukesha where he joined Wisconsin Centrifugal, Inc. He advanced through several positions to Vice President of Manufacturing. He also served as Vice President of Manufacturing at Hi-Ranger, and Operations Manager at the Orbis Division of Menasha Corporation from which he retired in 2000. He believed in employee advocacy and was delighted when they achieved success through his mentoring.
During his retirement he was involved in Freemasonry being a member of Waukesha Lodge No. 37 of which he was twice Master, Tripoli Shrine and the Waukesha County Shrine Club serving as President and Secretary Treasurer, Scottish Rite Valley of Milwaukee, and Milwaukee Court No. 101 Royal Order of Jesters serving as it director in 2014.
He was one of the founders of the Waukesha Police Citizens Academy Alumni Association being its first President for three years and Treasurer for two.
Golf was his favorite pastime, playing almost daily at Morningstar Golfer’s Club. His claim to fame was scoring two holes in one in the same eighteen-hole round at Rock River Hills in Horicon.
At Bob’s request no funeral will be conducted. Just keep his memory in your hearts and enjoy life as he did.
