Phyllis Piagentini

September 16, 1922 — October 9, 2010

Phyllis L. Piagentini of Mukwonago, died peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at her home surrounded by family, at the age of 88.  She was born on September 16, 1922 in Iowa, the daughter of Kerns and Dorothy (Rankin) Applegate.  She was united in marriage to Joseph Piagentini on April 20, 1946 in Chicago; he preceded her in death on August 22, 2007.  Along with having 7 children of their own, Joe and Phyllis also touched the lives of 47 foster children over 20 years.  Phyllis loved quilting and made countless quilts for her children and grandchildren.  She helped to build Westbrooke Wesleyan Church in New Berlin and has been a devoted member for over 50 years.    Phyllis will be deeply missed by her three sons:  Richard (Patricia) of Wales, Martin (Roxanne) of Muskego, and David of Oconomowoc; two daughters; Susan (Curt) Krohn of Mukwonago, and Brenda (Jason) Tetzlaff of Waukesha; 10 grandchildren:  Kelly (Jay) Cavaiani, Angela (Shane) Kitzan, Eric (Cheri) Terrizzi, Melissa (Chris) Curka, Ryan (Stephanie) Huckstorf, Rhonda Huckstorf, Caidlena Krohn, Levi Krohn, Tyson Tetzlaff, and Trae Tetzlaff; 12 great-grandchildren:  Jacob, Abigail and Caleb Cavaiani, Ryan and Sophia Kitzan, Owen and Ethan Terrizzi, Austin Curka, Kiley, Savannah, Isabella and Aubriana Huckstorf, and Jaxon Lawrence.  She is further survived by her siblings:  Evelyn Smith, Frieda (Curtis) Davis, Naomi Rutzinski, John Applegate, and Martha Anderson, all of Iowa.  She is preceded in death by son Timothy Kerns Piagentini, daughter Barbara Sue Piagentini, brothers Bill and Junior Applegate, sister Louise Loncor, and her parents.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM funeral service at Westbrooke Wesleyan Church, 21300 W. Greenfield Ave., New Berlin.  Rev. Scott Smith, Rev. Gerald Krupp, and Rev. Jay Cavaiani will preside.  Interment will be held privately on Thursday at Prairie Home Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to be given to her favorite charities.
