Mary Seelentag

June 18, 1944 — June 11, 2011

Mary P. Seelentag, of Waukesha, died on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Waukesha Springs at the age of 66. She was born in Milwaukee on June 18, 1944 the daughter of Gerald, Sr. and Patricia (nee Taugher) Hekkers.  Mary attended Catholic Memorial High School, where she learned to type 90 words per minute (wpm) and take shorthand at 85 wpm.  She started working at a young age at the Waukesha Central Delicatessen before becoming the secretary at Gimbel’s Department Store, where she put her typing and shorthand skills to good use.  Mary was a lifetime member and volunteer of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she met her very good friend Gabriella Moersfelder, who is a Pastoral Associate.  They have been close friends for the past 5 years.  Mary enjoyed expressing herself through art, working with wood, fabrics, paper and various other mediums.  Her holiday artwork could always be found on her door as well as the doors of the other residents on her wing.  Mary was an outgoing person who always enjoyed visiting with people and motivating them to explore their creative side.  Mary is survived by her children: Kimberly Anne Kellerman of Wilderville, OR, Karrie LeAnne (Sean) McDonough of Valley Village, CA, and Robert Michael “Bobby” (Karen) Seelentag II of Hollywood, CA, grandchildren; her siblings: Thomas (Vicki) Hekkers of Waukesha, Jeff (Mary Therese) Hekkers of Oconomowoc and Debra (Jeff) Stenbach of Eagle.  She is further survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Hekkers, her friend Gabriela Moersfelder along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gerald, Jr. and Kevin.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 10:00AM until the funeral Mass at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N.
