Mary C. Kachel of Waukesha found eternal peace with her daughter Meghan Dryw by her side on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Froedtert Hospital at age 67. She was born in Milwaukee on May 29, 1948 the daughter of Gordon R. and Madelynn M. (nee Lyon) Thomas. Mary loved music, theatre, laughing, reading books and cooking good food.
Mary will always be remembered for her stellar sense of humor and as a beloved mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
She is the beloved mother of Meghan Dryw (Anthony “Tony”) Gorzalski of Waukesha and dear “GrandMare” of Maddie Grace Gorzalski. She is further survived by her treasured big sister Roxanne Seiple of Valley, AL, her nephew Eric Everett, dear friend Dr. Pamela Ross Mahnke, her former spouse Carl H. Martens along with other relatives and her very dear lifelong friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Priscilla Trulen and her second husband Mark W. Kachel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 12:00 noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Father Jim Volkert and Father Howard Haase will concelebrate. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family.
