Mark S. Tompitch

Mark S. Tompitch, of Waukesha, formerly of Mukwonago, died peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at AngelsGrace Hospice surrounded by his family at the age of 65. He was born in Waukesha on February 6, 1950 the son of Paul and Eileen (nee Miller) Tompitch. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1969 until 1973 serving in Guam, Okinawa and Thailand. On June 7, 1975 he married Lynn Pechacek at Holy Assumption Church in West Allis. Mark said that his wife Lynn was the best thing that ever happened to him in his entire life. He thought the world of and was very proud to be the dad to his children Jodi and Andy.

Mark was a hard-worker, retiring from Wisconsin Electric where he worked for many years as a distribution worker. Mark loved visiting people, sharing stories, talking military history and had a great sense of humor. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger Fan, enjoyed collecting baseball cards, football cards and Hartland Statues, loved walking the dog, listening to good old rock-n-roll and country music and loved Christmas more than anyone. He was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church before recently becoming a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Waukesha. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.

He will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife Lynn of Waukesha and their two children, Jodi Tompitch of Waukesha and Andy Tompitch of Destin, FL and was the dear brother of Marcia (Sig) Gomez of Waukesha and Mary Jo (Ken) Vondross of Waukesha. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Sharon (Tim) Vlasis of Big Bend, his brother-in-law Jack (Barb) Pechacek of Big Bend, his nieces and nephews, Justin, Jared and Jena Gomez, Jenny (Scott) Allen, Rachael (Sean) St. Germain and David Vondross along with other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 9:30am until the time of the 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha. Father Howard Haase will preside. Interment with full military honors will take place Thursday afternoon at 3:00pm at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, WI 53182. Please meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Wisconsin Veterans Home-Union Grove (checks payable to WVH-UG), 21425 F Spring Street (Maurer Hall), Union Grove, WI 53182.
