Margaret Bertram

August 3, 1931 — December 20, 2009

Margaret J. Bertram of Waukesha, died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Golden Living Heritage Square in Greendale at the age of 78.  She was born on August 3, 1931 in Waukesha, the daughter of John and Rose (Furrer) Gross.  Margaret graduated from Waukesha High School in 1948.  She was united in marriage to Russell Bertram on July 17, 1961; he preceded her in death in 1986. Margaret owned and operated Beautequest Studio in Waukesha for 43 years.  After selling the salon she continued to work until her retirement in 2009.  As a life member of Vernon Presbyterian Church, she was involved with the Active Older Adults Club and was a deacon and an elder.  She also enjoyed volunteering at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and her deliveries to the Waukesha Food Pantry.  Margaret was a devoted mother and grandmother to: the late Patricia Butchart and her son, Andrew (Andrea) Butchart of Milwaukee; Janet (Karl) Bethke and their children, Adam and Erik Bethke, all of Palatine, IL; Steven (Helen Nall) Bertram of Milwaukee and his children, Tracey (Peter) Jager of Cedarburg and Tara (Arthur) LeVin of Barrington, IL; Susan (Dennis) Schroeder and their son, Christopher, all of Middleton; and Sally (Rick) Wert and their children, Delana and Michael Wert, all of Indian River, Michigan.  She was a sister to Joan Gross of Waukesha, Barbara (Ronald) Zimmerman of Waukesha, the late John Gross, and Sandra Gross of Waukesha.  Margaret was also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, special nieces, Leigh Ann Kramer of Sheboygan and Katie (Joe) Schomisch of Burlington; other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Vernon United Presbyterian Church, S71 W23280 National Ave., from 1:00 PM until the 3:00 PM memorial service.  Pastor Judith Landt will preside.  Interment will take place on Monday, December 28, at 11:00 AM in the church cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the church or to the Waukesha Food Pantry, 215 W.
