Loretta L. Sommers

Loretta L. Sommers, of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Lake Country Health & Rehabilitation in Oconomowoc at the age of 87 years. She was born in Milwaukee on November 7, 1926 the daughter of Charles and Marcella (nee Schlicht) Albert. On September 8, 1951 she married Richard Sommers; he preceded her in death on November 18, 2005. Loretta worked as a telephone operator prior to becoming a mother and homemaker. After raising her six children she worked for Allis Chalmers and then the Godfrey Company in Waukesha until her retirement in 1989. She was a charter member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Paul (Carmen) Sommers of Watertown, Barbara (Thomas) Schmit of Genesee, Mark (Lorre) Sommers of Town of Waukesha, Donna (Thomas) McLeod of Big Bend, David Sommers of Garden Grove, CA and Ronald Sommers of Town of Waukesha. Dear grandmother of Stephanie (David) Beischer, Michael (Tammy) Sommers, Timothy (Jennifer) Sommers, Melissa (Thomas) Berg, Olivia Schmit, Shawn (Andrea) Sommers, Dustan and Jessica Sommers, Ryan, Jeremy and Natalie McLeod, Quinton, Cameron and Gavin Brudos-Sommers and Larissa Sommers and great-grandmother of Logan and Annabelle Berg, Ella and Kennedy Beischer, Sophia Sommers and Julia Busshardt, Chase O’Connell, and Kaden and Nolan Sommers. She is further survived by her brother Charles (Joyce) Albert of North Prairie, her sisters, Claire Frami of Oconomowoc and Lorene Boncher of Wauwatosa along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 10:00AM until the time of the 11:00AM funeral Mass at St. John Neumann Parish, 2400 West State Road 59, Waukesha, WI 53189. Reverend Curt J. Frederick will preside. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. If desired, memorials are appreciated to St. John Neumann Parish.
