Kay Mathie

Kay C. Mathie, age 67 of Waukesha, died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at her home. She was born on March 26, 1940 in Amery, WI to Alvin and Helen (nee: Wade) Nelsen. She graduated from Hartland Arrowhead High School in 1958. She was united in marriage to John "Jack" Mathie on December 26, 1973. She was employed at Waukesha Motor from 1969 until 1972, then worked at Crown Ladwig Co. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Hartland prior to joining the First Congregational Church in Waukesha, where she was currently a member and had belonged for the past 36 years. She belonged to the Church Women United for over 20 years, serving as treasurer, and was also a member of the church's Plymouth Circle. Kay was involved with Red Hatters (Badger Babes), and enjoyed golfing with the Women's Tuesday Morning League at Moor Downs. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends, especially Hand and Foot and Rummy 500. She was a member of Hartford Senior Center, and a former member of Hartford County Club. Kay performed with the Waukesha Civic Theatre, and also volunteered behind the scenes. Kay will be sadly missed by her husband, Jack Mathie of Waukesha; her children: Pam (Robert) Bowman of California, Linda Koconis of Waukesha, Ronda (Donald) Farina of Park Falls, and J. Scott (Becca) Mathie of Waukesha; 5 grandchildren: Katie and Megan Bowman of California, Tyler and Trevor Farina of Park Falls, and Maggie Mathie of Waukesha; her brother, Steve (Connie) Nelsen of Merton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her 6 year old son, Tyler Bensing; brothers, Donald Miles, Allen Miles; sisters: Mary Mae Tschudy and Lorlei Kiefer; and her parents. Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 25, 2007 at First Congregational Church, 100 E. Broadway, Waukesha, WI 53186, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service. Rev. Jeff Wartgow will officiate. Private interment will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha. Memorials may be made to the church, or to American Heart Association, 660 E.
