Katherine A. Volpano

Katherine "Katie" A. Volpano, age 89 of Waukesha, died Friday, November 30, 2007 at her home. She was born on December 24, 1917 in Yonkers, New York, the daughter of Joseph and Angeline (Colasante) Volpano. Katie was an employee for Waukesha County her entire working career, and was appointed Register in Probate, the position she held for 20 years until retirement in 1987. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Katie will be dearly missed by her longtime companion and loving friend, Edward Schmuki. She was the beloved aunt to 10 nieces and nephews: Joey Volpano, Margaret "Honey Girl" (Jim) Rasmussen, Salvatore "Teddy" (Laureen) Millonzi, Bill (Ginny) Volpano, Patty (Gregg) Weldon, Valerie (Ted) Glotfelty, Mike (Vickie) Volpano, Fred (Cheryl) McFarlane, Tom (Lana) McFarlane, and Bunny (Jim) Brace. She is further survived by grandnieces and nephews, many relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Louis, Christy, Nicholas, John; and two sisters: Josephine McFarlane and Alice "Dolly" Millonzi. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
