Joseph "Joe" P. Eppers

Joseph “Joe” P. Eppers a lifelong Waukesha resident died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the age of 62. He was born in Waukesha on February 21, 1955 the son of Harvey and Irene (nee Garity) Eppers. Joe was a 1974 graduate of Waukesha South High School. He met his lifelong sweetheart, Gabriele Kliesch while they were in kindergarten and they married on June 17, 1978. He worked as a mechanic for the School District of Waukesha for more than 30 years and enjoyed volunteering and mentoring the auto shop students at Waukesha North High School. Joe was extremely handy, a jack of all trades and could fix almost anything. He had a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone. Joe was a friend to everyone and a fantastic neighbor. He was the neighborhood “ringleader” and found great joy in planning the annual neighborhood party. Joe loved race car driving and especially loved his family. He was a great son to his parents and was their caretaker as they aged. Most of all he was a loving husband who cared and provided for his wife.
Joe will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 39 years, Gabriele of Waukesha, his brothers John (Sandy) Eppers of Oconomowoc and Richard (special friend Maryann Andrews) Eppers of Land O’ Lakes, FL, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Doris (Michael) Hohl, nieces and nephews, Patrick (Reyna) McNamar, Shawn McNamar, Nicole (Ronnie) Gibson, Ben Eppers, Jason (Heidi) Hohl, Matthew (Laura) Hohl and Jamie Hohl and great-nieces and great nephews, Jesse and Julia McNamar, Deagan McNamar, Gunnar Gibson, Sienna and Kaili Hohl and Cody Hohl. He is further survived by cousins and many friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Irene, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Alfred and Ida Kliesch and brother-in-law Karl Kliesch.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. time of sharing in celebration of Joe’s life at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joe’s name are appreciated to the family to be used to establish a Shop Class Scholarship Fund in his memory.
