Joseph Louis Beringer of Waukesha passed away from complications of pneumonia surrounded by his family on Monday, March 20, 2017, one day before his 90th birthday. He was born in Chicago of Hungarian parents originally from Kapovar and moved to Waukesha two years later where he lived his entire life.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mariska, his sister Olga “Dolly” Martin, his brother Arthur “Buddy”, his infant daughter Betsi and his second wife Helene Mendini Molenda Beringer.

Joe was foremost a gifted musician, a founder of the Waukesha Symphony Orchestra where he played first chair violin and viola. He was a lifetime and active member of the First Presbyterian Church and sang joyfully in the choir as well as the Waukesha Choral Union.

Amongst his many generous accomplishments to his community were his lifetime commitments through the Waukesha Lion’s Club, the Salvation Army, Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, AA, Masonic Lodge No. 37 where he gave countless hours helping others. Joe was the first to volunteer for any community task with his very happy heart. He will always be remembered for his contributions at the potato booth, bellringing at the Salvation Army kettle, and selling tickets and raising funds for the new Salvation Army building.

Professionally, Joe was a successful real estate broker and later a real estate appraiser, listing and selling homes to many Waukesha residents and their children, only retiring recently.
