John W. Schaeffer

June 25, 1922 — February 10, 2018

John W. Schaeffer rested in peace on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 95 with his family around him. He was born on the farm outside of Kewaskum, WI on June 25, 1922. The 6th of 7 children of Anton and Katherine (nee Berres) Schaeffer.
John graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1940 and proudly served his country for 3 years in the Army Air Corps as an Airplane Mechanic during World War II. After his service John went to MSOE and earned his Electronics Technician degree in 1947. On June 12, 1948 he married Florence Feucht at St. Andrew’s Parish in Leroy, WI and shared 67 years of marriage before her death on September 14, 2015. John was a faithful Traditional Catholic, a member of the Holy Name Society, a founding member of St. Pius V Chapel in Mukwonago and, along with his faithful wife, a member of the All Night Vigil’s for over 40 years.
John worked at AC Delco Electronics, a division of General Motors Corp., for over 31 years as an Electronic Technician. After retiring in 1982, he went back to college every year for TV repair and computer classes up to the age of 80.
John enjoyed organic gardening, TV, appliance and engine repairs. For most of his life he and Florence traveled the U.S. and got the chance to go to Europe twice.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Florence, youngest son Carl and six (6) siblings, Edward, Lawrence, Ann, Rose, Marie and Eleanor. John is survived by his five (5) children Gary (Debra), Gloria (Mac) McNamara, Dale (Terie), Mark, the late Carl (Patricia) and Marla (Ron) Majors. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. We Love You Dad. Because of your love of God and family you will always be a part of our lives. God Bless You!
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Requiem Mass will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius V Roman Catholic Chapel, 425 Grand Ave., Mukwonago, WI 53149. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Please meet at the cemetery.
