James Engman

James C. Engman, of Pewaukee, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at his home at the age of 87. He was born on April 30, 1924, in Milwaukee, the son of Joseph and Mary (nee Neuman) Engman. He was a graduate of Wauwatosa High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree and also his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UW-Madison. On June 26, 1952 he married Harriet “Kay” Dunn in Madison.   For many years he worked at Milwaukee Plastic, subsequently Gould, retiring in 1981. He was the former sexton at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. He was a charter member of Kettle Moraine Curling Club and was on the Zoning and Sanitary Commission for the town of Pewaukee. Jim was an avid hunter and painter.  He will be missed by his wife Harriet “Kay” of Pewaukee along with their children Joseph Engman of Waukesha, Thomas (Julie) Engman of Sheboygan, Amy (Burt) Ewing of New Brighton, MN, Margaret Engman of Appleton, Elizabeth (Tim) Kritter of Madison, Peter (Linda) Engman of Turtle Lake, WI and Harriet (Gregory) Sysyn of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Alex, Katie and James Engman, Quinlan Purkey, Clarissa and Charles Kritter, Maisy and Eli Sysyn and Kyle and Meredith Engman. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas, as well as his parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 27 from 10:00 am until the 12:00 pm funeral service at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35 W23360 Capitol Dr. Pewaukee, WI 53072. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery in Duplainville. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church (address above) are appreciated. For further information, please call Randle-Dable Funeral, Cremation and Preplanning Services at (262) 547-4035, or go to www.waukeshafunerals.com to leave an on-line tribute.
