Isabel Elger

Isabel O. Elger, of Waukesha and longtime New Berlin resident, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at her home at Avalon Square at the age of 89.  She was born on November 1, 1919 in New Berlin, WI the daughter of Edward and Edith (nee Sake) Hause. Prior to getting married, Isabel worked at RA Muehl Grocery in Waukesha.  On September 5, 1942 she married Kenneth Elger at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Waukesha.  He preceded her in death on May 3, 1999.  In 1962, Isabel started working for the New Berlin School lunch program where for 20 years she worked at the New Berlin Center School and for six years at Prospect Hill School before retiring.  Along with her husband she enjoyed sports, attending many New Berlin high school basketball games and baseball games in Waukesha.  She was a member of the Waukesha Senior Citizens and on the board for the New Berlin Historical Society.  Isabel was also an active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Jean (Dr. David) Olysav of Sherman, IL, her grandson Brian (Stephanie) Olysav of Sherman, IL, great-grandchildren Bradley Patrick, Maxwell Brian, and Elyse Jean Olysav.  Also surviving is a sister Lola Ludwig of Wheaton, IL, along with other relatives. In addition to her husband Kenneth, she was preceded in death by her brothers Lester (Florence) Hause and Gilbert (Agnes) Hause, and her parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 4:00 until 7:00PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI.  Visitation continues on Monday, June 29, 2009 from 10:00 until the 11:00AM funeral service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha, WI 53186. Rev.
