Helen Lesjak

April 9, 1915 — July 11, 2011

Helen M. Lesjak, of Pewaukee, former longtime Milwaukee resident, died on Monday, July 11, 2011 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at the age of 96. She was born in Poniatowski, WI on April 9, 1915 the daughter of John and Barbara (nee Fichtinger) Krell. On May 27, 1929 she graduated from the 8th grade. Helen loved to sew and worked at her sister Anna’s dress shop. She also enjoyed sewing clothes and quilting for her church, St. Bernadette’s in Milwaukee. She was most recently a member of St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church in Pewaukee. Helen was a very busy woman who accomplished many things in her full life. She was loved dearly by her family.  She will be sadly missed by her son-in-law Charles J. Waldvogel of Waukesha, her two grandchildren: Julia (Kevin) Grove of Hammond, WI and Michael (Melissa) Waldvogel of Sun Prairie, three great-grandchildren: Megan and Kaleigh Waldvogel and Elizabeth Grove. She is further survived by her sister, Sister Christopher (Josephine) Krell along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Lesjak on September 10, 1990, her daughter Carol Waldvogel on March 30, 2007 and by her brothers John and Tony and sisters Anna and Frances.  The family would like to extend a very special and warm thank you to Dr. Patrick O’Malley and all the staff and volunteers at AngelsGrace Hospice for the care, compassion and love provided to Helen during her two-month stay.  The family is also most grateful to Dr. Paul Doenier and staff for their superb care given to Helen over the past four years. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 9:00AM until the 11:00AM funeral Mass all at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church W280 N2101 Hwy SS, Pewaukee, WI. The Reverend Tony Zimmer will preside. Entombment will be held on Friday at 2:30PM at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
