Glenn Smith

October 31, 1944 — June 5, 2010

Glenn W. “Smitty” Smith of Waukesha, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at his home at the age of 65.  He was born on October 31, 1944 in Waukesha, the son of Milo and Addie (Johnston) Smith.  Glenn proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in Vietnam.  He was a longtime employee of Baldwin Transfer Company in Milwaukee until retirement.  Glenn was a member of D.J. Martin American Legion Post 8 of Waukesha, Soat-Vergenz VFW Post 721 of Waukesha, and Vietnam Veterans of America.  He enjoyed golfing and camping, but the true joy of his life was his grandchildren.  Glenn will be deeply missed by his wife of 17 years, Karen (nee Huebner) Smith of Waukesha; children:  Kevin Miller and Dawn Miller, both of Milwaukee; grandchildren:  Anthony, Vanessa, and Julian; brother, Stan (Ruby) Smith of Maryland; nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Smith, and his parents. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with an American Legion Service at 7:00 PM, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.  Burial will take place on Friday, June 11 at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin, with full military honors.
