George Dowty

February 22, 1940 — September 28, 2007

Lifelong resident of Wales, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at RiverHills West in Pewaukee at the age of 67. He was born on February 22, 1940 the son of Thomas and Viola (nee Kobs) Dowty. He attended Waukesha High School and Mukwonago High School. On August 19, 1961 he married Lois Turner. They knew each other since they met in the first grade at Wales Grade School. He worked for Mathison Metalfab, Inc. as a welder from 1962 until his retirement in 1999. George was a former member of the 1st Baptist Church in Waukesha. He was an avid gardener, who also loved to fish and go deer hunting. George will be sadly missed by his loving wife Lois of Wales, his sons; David (May) Dowty of Chula Vista, California and Scott Dowty of Wales, his two grandsons; Michael of Wales and Daniel of Chula Vista. He is further survived by his sister Laura Bannach of Stevens Point and his seven brothers; Eugene (Virginia) of Waldo, WI, Robert of Pewaukee, Richard (Gloria) of Hudson, Florida, Raymond (Audrey) of Milladore, WI, Howard of Palmyra, Paul (Pam) of Oconomowoc, and James (Louise) of Waldo along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October, 2 at 7:00 PM at the Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Ottawa Cemetery.
