Evelyn "Eva" M. Lugo
December 15, 1935 — June 2, 2017
Evelyn “Eva” M. Lugo of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2017 surrounded by her family at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 81. She was born in Pewaukee on December 15, 1935 the daughter of Joseph and Felicia (nee Martinez) Jimenez. Eva worked for many years at the Virginia Health and Rehab in Waukesha. She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed being a mom to others. Anyone who met, Eva, loved her from the start and she was a friend to everyone. She will be remembered for her sassy and outspoken personality, but most of all as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She will be sadly missed by her children David Lugo of Waukesha, Monica (Dan) Huenink of Waukesha and Elizabeth (Junior) Calderon of Waukesha and her two grandchildren, Amanda (fiancée Tom Miles) Huenink and Jamie Huenink. She is further survived by her sisters, Anna (the late Lupe) Cantu, Secora (the late Elias) Garza, Ester (the late Robert) Finn and Rosie (Rick) Chacon, her sister-in-law Micky Jimenez along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Aurelio in 1998, sisters Mary (Timo) Gonzales, Elizabeth (Catarino) Monreal, brother Lupe Jimenez, her buddy Doug Sherman and her parents.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the many people who helped Eva and her family the past few years, including: Elizabeth Calderon, Amanda Avila, Anna Cantu, Josephine Chacon, Jimmy Rodriguez, Rosie & Rick Chacon, Peggy Sherman and to the nurses and staff of AngelsGrace Hospice for their comfort and care in Eva’s final days.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 12:00 noon funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to AngelsGrace Hospice, N74 W35908 Servants’ Way, Oconomowoc, WI 53066 or to Katy’s Kloset, 404 Wilmont Dr. Unit D, Waukesha, WI 53189.
