Evangelina Vasquez

Evangelina (nee Zuniga) Vasquez of Waukesha, died on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 74. She was born on July 23, 1933 in Roma Texas to Leopoldo and Ramona (nee: Salazar) Zuniga. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukesha and was a longtime member of the Guadalupe Society. She enjoyed going to the casino playing bingo, the slot machines and pool. She will be sadly missed by her children: Frances (Teodoro) Aguilera of Waukesha, Maria Vasquez of Waukesha; Francisco (Jan) Vasquez of Waukesha, Jessie Vasquez of Fox Lake, Oregon; Jose (Tracy) Vasquez of Waukesha; Leonard (Linda) Vasquez, Jr. of Waukesha; Ramona Escobedo of Waukesha; Rosa (the late Armondo) Trevino of Stevens Point; Ruth (John) Cavey of Waukesha, Vinnino (Cathy) Vasquez of Bancroft, WI; Robert Vasquez of Oregon, WI; and Louie (Liz) Vasquez of Waukesha.. Evangelina also raised two special grandchildren Michelle and Lorenzo Vasquez; 44 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by brother and sisters: Gilbert (Joan) Zuniga of Waukesha; Maria (the late Miguel) Arriola of Arkansas; Joe (Esperanza) Zuniga, Leo (the late Jeanne) Zuniga, Janie Zuniga and Noeila (the late Isabel) Segovia all of Holland Michigan and also her special dogs Kayla and Kyla. In addition to her parents and husband Leonard, she is preceded in death by her daughter Theresa "Cuchi" Vasquez in 2003. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, May 2, 2008 at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. . Services continue with prayers at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at the funeral home, followed by procession to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue for the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
