Edwin Schowalter

BROOKFIELD-Edwin A. Schowalter, of Brookfield, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc at the age of 82. He was born on June 13, 1925 in Milwaukee to Charles and Marie (nee: Demrath) Schowalter. He was a graduate of Washington High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. On April 23, 1949 he married the former Edith Ramage. For 25 years, he was the owner of Ed's Camera Shop in Brookfield. Ed enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles and was a member of HOG. He was an active member of the Brookfield YMCA and enjoyed many activities at the Brookfield Senior Center. Ed loved to travel the world. He is survived by his children Robert (Diana) Schowalter of Oconomowoc, Susan (Rick) Larson of Appleton and Richard (Cynthia) Schowalter of Summit. He is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, son-in-law Thomas Bowitz of East Troy, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith in 1998, son Thomas, daughter Mary Bowitz and brother Carl. Visitation was held on Friday, January 11, from 4:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. funeral service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. The Rev. John Bergson of Lord of Life Lutheran Church officiating. Graveside services with full military honors on Saturday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery office.
