BROOKFIELD-Dorothy J. Thorgersen, of Brookfield, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. She was born on April 10, 1927 in Racine to Vincent and Gertrude (nee: Nelson) Bahl. She was a cadet nurse during World War II. In 1948 she received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Marquette University. In her earlier years she had worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital and then enjoyed staying home and raising her family. She was a member of the Medical Society Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading books, attending plays and traveling. She has been a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church since 1964. She will be sadly missed by her husband Thor, whom she married on June 19, 1948, along with their children Thor M. (Mary) Thorgersen of Appleton, Vincent J. (Patricia) Thorgersen of Hampshire, IL and John G. (Janice) Thorgersen of Green Bay. She is further survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. Services will continue at the funeral home on Saturday, February 2, with prayers beginning at 9:15 AM followed by the procession to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha, WI for the 10:30 AM Funeral Mass. The Very Reverend James T. Volkert will preside. Cemetery Services & Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery inside the Mausoleum Chapel.
