Dorothy L. Tallinger

Dorothy L. Tallinger, of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at LindenGrove with her family at her side at the age of 87 years. She was born in Antigo, WI on August 24, 1926 the daughter of the late Edwin and Amelia (nee Kolz) Wagner. Dorothy was a loving and hardworking mother who raised four successful children on her own. When her children were young she enjoyed being a Cub Scout leader. Dorothy was a former member of St. William Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was part of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed bowling and reading, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Michael Tallinger of Waukesha, Joseph Tallinger of Waukesha, Lynn Poppie of Wauwatosa and John (Theresa) Tallinger of Wauwatosa. She was the dear grandmother of Michael J., Alexandra, Benjamin, Samantha, Jason, Casey and Emilie and great-grandmother of Ryan, Layla, Michael Jr. and another great-grandchild on the way.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of LindenGrove and Horizon Home Care and Hospice for the kind and compassionate care provided to Dorothy.

A private family burial will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Memorials in Dorothy’s name are appreciated to the charity of the donor’s choice.
