Doris Elliott

Doris E. Elliott of Plymouth, former longtime resident of Waukesha, died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the Plymouth Care Center at the age of 83. She was born in Montreal, Canada on July 8, 1924 the daughter of William and Elizabeth (nee: Thorpe) Barker. She graduated high school in 1942 and on December 27, 1945 she married Bernard Elliott in Montreal. In 1954 Doris and her husband Bernard became naturalized United States citizens. Doris has been a member at St. Matthias Episcopal Church since 1964 where she was a member of the Alter Guild and the Bible study class. She was also the past President of the YWCA. Doris was a wonderful mother who enjoyed playing bridge and was an excellent and avid gardener. She will be sadly missed by her daughters; Caroline (Rick) Bate of Grafton, Donna Gossett of Xenia, Ohio, Janet (Warren) Shull of Fairport, New York, and Patricia Trotter of Plymouth. She was the dear grandmother of her eleven grandchildren; Andrew Bate of London, Stuart (Pynteya) Bate of Atlanta, Georgia, Thomas Bate of Grafton, Scott (Stacey) Gossett of Xenia, Ohio, Darci (Jake) Allen of Del Rio, Texas, Melissa (Trent) Lemle of Xenia, Ohio, Todd (Fiancé Crystal Allen) Gossett of Xenia, Ohio, Christine Trotter of Dallas, Texas, David Trotter of Milwaukee, Mark Trotter of Milwaukee, and Lisa Shull of New Haven, Connecticut and great-grandmother to Cole and Chase Allen of Del Rio, Texas. She is further survived by nephews William Morley, Rod(Ruth Ann) Morley , and niece Lindy (Chuck) Rowley all of London, Ontario Canada, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard in 1995, her sister Moira Morley in 2005, and her three-year-old sister Margaret Patricia in 1921. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 11:00AM at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main Street, Waukesha with Rev. Dr. Thomas Barnett presiding. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM Mass at the church.
