Dominic J. Shuda

July 12, 1925 — September 28, 2015

Dominic “Dom” “Danny” J. Shuda, of Waukesha, died of lung cancer on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Virginia Health & Rehab at the age of 90. He was born on a farm in Stevens Point, July 12, 1925 the son of Dominick and Katherine Shuda. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a Naval Aviation Radioman/Gunner during WWII flying in a Douglas SBA Dauntless off Cherry Point, NC and then a crewman on PBY off Whidbey Island, WA. After the war he attended M.S.O.E. taking courses in drafting and heating/air conditioning. On October 18, 1952 he married Maxine (nee Stawicki) and together they had a long and happy marriage for over 49 years and had two daughters.

Dominic retired in 1985 from Evinrude Motors after 30 years as a Quality Control Inspector. He loved to work on cars, follow the stock market, and enjoyed casino trips. He could fix anything. While his voice was loud, he was gentle and very patient. He had a green thumb and could grow everything. Dominic was a natural at training animals, potty training kids, and taught many people to drive. He could whistle beautifully. But most importantly, he was a man ahead of his time being an equal and supportive partner in a wonderful marriage. Dominic was a great father. He taught and encouraged his daughters that they could be anything they wanted to be during the 1950’s.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Linda Shuda (#1 son John Konkol), brothers David and Ralph and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, daughter Debra Marie Shuda, his parents Dominick and Katherine, sister Lucille, brother Jerome, brother-in-law Clarence, and sisters-in-law Faye and Pearl.
