David Gunther

March 22, 1918 — November 26, 2008

David “Dave” “Bud” J. Gunther, of Waukesha, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 90.  He was born on March 22, 1918 in Waukesha, the son of Max and Esther (Dable) Gunther.  He was a WWII Army veteran serving in Italy.  On May 3, 1947, Dave was united in marriage to Georgene Alm at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha.  He was employed at Miller Brewery in Milwaukee for over 30 years, retiring in 1983.  As an avid bowler, Dave enjoyed playing on many leagues throughout the years.  He loved cars, working in his yard, and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed singing, and belonged to a barbershop quartet and sang in the church choir.  Dave was a longtime active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Dave will be sadly missed by his wife, Georgene of Waukesha; three children:  Sally (Dannie) Majerus of Waukesha, Jim (Judy) Gunther of Delafield, and Steve Gunther of North Prairie; grandchildren:  Christopher (Nancy) Majerus, Rebecca (Todd) Mueller, Patricia Majerus, Holly (Kristopher) Broehm, Justin Gunther, Lauren Gunther, and Jeremy Gunther; great-grandchildren:  Jason, Colin, Jacob, Nicholas, Logan, Trever, and Gavin; brother, Bill (Vera) Gunther of Minneapolis, MN; and sister, Carol Komberec of Waukesha.  He is preceded in death by his parents.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 12:00 noon until the 2:00 PM Funeral Service at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Ave., Waukesha, WI 53188.  Rev.
