Corrine "Tootie" Phipps

October 17, 1932 — April 10, 2017

Corrine “Tootie” M. Phipps (nee Foster) age 84, of Waukesha boarded her last bus for her final casino trip, joining her sister Evelyn, on April 10, 2017 at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her family.

She graduated from Waukesha High School, and had many fulfilling jobs in the years to follow. She married Richard Allen Phipps and they raised their two children Richard A. Phipps and Patricia E. Phipps (Baker). Her husband preceded her in death in 1963. Corrine took on the fulltime duties of a single parent right up to the end, always more worried about her children and friends than she was about herself.

She worked for Schneider Electronics as a circuit board assembler, put herself through beautician school and worked as a hair dresser for several years. She then used her typing, shorthand, and management skills to work as an executive secretary for several local law firms. Her last position was with E.H. Boeckh a division of American Appraisal in Milwaukee as a Construction Cost Analyst. She worked this job until she reached 70 years of age, when she wanted to enjoy her interests in bowling, embroidery, bingo, gambling trips with friends along with her many volunteer projects and her children, grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, mother Augusta, father Archie, sister Evelyn and brothers William and Sidney.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her children Rick A. (Bonnie nee McGeen) Phipps and Patricia E. (nee Phipps) Baker (Steve), her grandchildren Jason A. (Tiffany nee Dobbertin) Phipps, Benjamin A. (Jessica Bauer) Phipps, great-grandchildren Kaytie, Karlie and Jackson Phipps, other relatives and her many friends and co-workers.

Corrine had preplanned her own final plans, that included direct cremation and interment at Highland Memorial Park with her husband, mother and father. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Seasons Hospice, 3217 Fiddlers Creek Dr. Waukesha, WI 53188 (262) 523-9900.
