Clayton G. Schott

October 13, 1936 — October 4, 2015

Clayton G. Schott, of Waukesha, died on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at his home with his family by his side at age 78. He was born in Minnesota on October 13, 1936 the son of Henry and Vyletta Schott. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Clayton was a graduate of Northwestern University and received his Master’s Degree from Cardinal Stritch in education. He worked for Dayton’s in interior design before moving to Milwaukee and opening and managing Sweden House Restaurants. After receiving his Master’s Degree he was a special education teacher for 33 years at Gaenslen School. After retirement, Clayton enjoyed being a fine art photographer producing work in the United States, Austria, Italy, Greece and France, as well as throughout the Waukesha community. Clayton was an avid gardener and loved his gardens and his lights. He was a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church.

He will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend, Carol (nee Leidgen) Schott of Waukesha, his children, Kristin (Lee Roy) Kukowski, Darin (Bruce Sayles) Schott and Kevin Schott and his step-sons, Christopher (Kim) Tennessen, Andrew Tennessen, Daniel (Carrie) Tennessen and David (Jesse) Tennessen. He was the dear grandfather of Andrew (Janese) Radtke, Paige (Mitch) McGrath, John (Emily) Kukowski and Sam (Cara) Kukowski; step-grandfather of Kayla and Megan Tennessen, and great-grandfather of Benjamin, Faith and Austin Radtke, Tucker McGrath, Noah, Elayna and Weston Kukowski and Wyatt Kukowski. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Earl Schott.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the 6:00 p.m. funeral Mass at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main Street, Waukesha, WI 53186. The Reverend David Simmons will preside. Burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 9:30 a.m. at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Please meet at the cemetery in the green parking area. Memorials are appreciated to St. Matthias Episcopal Church or Heartland Hospice, 1233 N. Mayfair Road Suite 100, Milwaukee, WI 53226.
