Mrs. Claudine C. Schwellinger, 73, of the Town of Waukesha, died Monday, May 6, 2008 at Boca Raton Community Hospital in Boca Raton, FL. She was born in Cudahy on March 4, 1935 to Arthur and Irene (nee: Dronso) Gooder. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy High School. On September 3, 1955, Claudine was united in marriage to Jerome "Jerry" Schwellinger, Sr. She was a former member of the Waukesha Service Club, and a longtime fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, organizing golf tournaments and fundraising events in both Wisconsin and Florida. As an avid gardener, she had a very good eye for landscape design, decorating, and flower arranging. She was a gifted party planner who loved to entertain for family and friends, as well as an extraordinary buyer of gifts. She enjoyed the time spent playing cards with her friends, and was especially good at Bridge and Gin. Traveling, fine dining, and golfing were among her many hobbies. Along with her mischievous sense of humor, Claudine will be fondly remembered as a wonderful loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 52 years, Jerome "Jerry" Schwellinger, Sr; their five children: Jerome (Amy) Schwellinger, Jr. of Waukesha; Mark (Karen) Schwellinger of Oconomowoc; Brian (Lynne) Schwellinger of Madison; Maria Schwellinger of Milwaukee and Dr. Lisa Schwellinger of Oconomowoc. She is further survived by her beloved grandchildren: Jason, Jonathon, Quinn, William, Leane, Lia Marie, Sterling, Andrea, Brenan and great-granddaughter Jasmin as well as her sister Patricia Dreful of Waukesha. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death her brothers, Arthur and William and her sister Laverne. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd. from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon at the church with Reverend Jason Lavann presiding.
