Bruce M. Otto, 80, of East Troy, WI and Bonita Springs, FL died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at his East Troy home. He was born on March 20, 1936, in Tomah, WI, the son of Ralph and Elizabeth (nee Richette) Otto. He was a 1954 graduate of Tomah High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Carroll University in 1958. In 1964 he received his PhD in organic chemistry from Ohio State. He was vice president at Amoco for many years. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of Lake Beulah Yacht Club and Trout Unlimited. Bruce had many hobbies including, playing tennis, golfing, boating, flower gardening, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren and attending their events. He was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, where he volunteered at the church thrift shop. He spent many hours volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of Bonita Bay Club, Bonita Springs, FL.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Evelyn of East Troy, along with their children Jennifer (Dan) Wade of Grafton, Michael (Diane) Otto of Langhorne, PA and Peter (significant other Suling Huang and her daughter Ashley Guo) Otto of Naperville, IL. Dear grandfather of Jeffrey and Alexandra Wade of Grafton and Abigail Otto of Langhorne, PA. He is further survived by his brother Doug (Debbie) Otto of Lakewood, NJ and Bonita Springs, FL; sister Jean (the late Steve) Abbott of Sparta; sisters-in-law Edythe (Richard) Conway of Ithaca, NY, Genevieve Hall of Amelia Island, FL and Dottie (Jim) Watson of Mukwonago; beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Joan Evans.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the 2:00 p.m. memorial service at First Congregational Church of Mukwonago, 231 Roberts Drive, Mukwonago, WI 53149. Memorials are appreciated to Carroll University Chemistry Department 100 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186 or Habitat for Humanity 9080 Bonita Beach Rd. SE, Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
