Bernice Wiesner

June 18, 1916 — September 20, 2008

Bernice M. Wiesner, lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital at the age of 92.  She was born on June 18, 1916 in Mauston, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Carrie (Vreeland) Smith.  Bernice married Eugene J. Wiesner on January 23, 1937 in Waukesha; he preceded her in death in 1985.  She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she enjoyed being part of the Christian Mothers group.  She was also a member of Firemen’s Auxiliary in Waukesha.  Bernice will be sadly missed by her daughters:  Janice (Jerome) Rosencrans of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Marion (Robert) Steiro of Green Bay, WI, and Teresa Loesing of Waukesha; grandchildren:  Karen (Keith) Ruona, Judi (Kevin) Alft; David (Melissa) Steiro, Janel Dudzek, Jerilyn Hidde, and Tim (fiancé Alli) Loesing; and 17 great-grandchildren.  She is also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mel Loesing; four siblings:  Beatrice Southern, James, Amo, and Jerry Smith; her parents.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, from 9:00AM until 11:00AM, with the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Wheaton Franciscan Hospice, 9688 W.
