Bernadine Scremo

Bernadine “Ida” Scremo, of Waukesha, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at The Virginia Health and Rehab Center at the age of 94. She was born on August 28, 1917 in Waukesha, the daughter of Anthony and Lorretta (nee Sindertta) Thomas. For many years she worked at Allis Chalmers as an overhead crane operator. Ida then worked in the cafeteria at Butler Middle School until 2000. She has been a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She will be sadly missed by her brother John Thomas of Oshkosh, sister-in-law Mary Thomas of Waukesha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James, brothers Nunzio, Joe and Angello and sister Rose Yocum. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27 from 12:30 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. funeral service at the St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, S22 W22890 Broadway Avenue in Waukesha. Entombment will follow the service. Memorials are appreciated for masses in Ida’s name at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N.
