Arletta Lefevre

October 8, 1919 — May 20, 2012

Arletta F. “Letty” LeFevre, of Waukesha, formerly of Green Bay, died on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Avalon Square at the age of 92. She was born October 8, 1919 in Green Bay, WI to Theodore and Mary (nee Vanderlin) VanderGeeten. She worked at Kraft Cheese in Green Bay where a friend introduced her to her brother.   She married Clifford LeFevre on February 26, 1944 while he was in the Navy submarine service during WWII. She traveled many places with him; Philadelphia, New London, CT and made the long trip by boat by herself to Hawaii to be with him. She made many long lasting friends along the way. After his service to his country they settled in Green Bay and eventually Waukesha¸ where she has called home since 1951. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church since that time. She was a member of the Christian Women and helped in the kitchen serving for funerals and many other occasions. She worked cleaning homes for many people in the Waukesha area and got to know their families and watch their children grow up. She was treated like one of the family by all who knew and loved her. There wasn’t a day that went by that she wasn’t helping someone in the neighborhood, with cleaning, washing, sewing, cooking or just sitting over coffee lending an understanding ear. She was a wonderful cook and worked for many years at the Knights of Columbus clubhouse for weddings and every Friday Fish Frys. She loved to bake, play cards and tend her flowers. She never learned to drive so she walked everywhere up into her 80’s, carrying groceries if no one was around to take her. She stayed in her home after her husband died in 1983 and lived there until the last 8 years of her life. Then she made her home at Oak Hill Village and made new friends there. She recently was at Avalon Manor since January where she was in hospice care the last two weeks.  Arletta was a very supportive mother and will be lovingly remembered and extremely missed by her children Marianne (Dick) Puls, Diane (Loren) Dalhoe and Paul (Liz) LeFevre. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren Jaime (Tim) Treml, Andrea and Chris Dalhoe, Ethan LeFevre and great-grandchild Calista Treml with another little girl on the way. Also, many, nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends, especially her niece Lynn, cousin Virginia, dear friend Minda and Barbara. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifford, sister Eunice Brozek, brother Clarence and many other friends and relatives.  A special thanks to the staff at Avalon Manor and Compassionate Care hospice for their loving care and support these last few months.  Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 11:00AM until the 12:00 Noon funeral Mass at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Rev. Curt Frederick will preside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of your choice. For further information, please call Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral, Cremation and Preplanning Services at 262-547-4035 or go to www.waukeshafunerals.com to leave the family an online tribute message.
